It would be more accurate for you to say something like "I do not consider you an artist if you use [this medium] or [this tool]."
AI is just a new medium for art, and people don't want to admit that they are old-fashioned (although the "old" "art" they defend is almost all digital as well and isn't the sort of thing you'll find in any art history book).
