EDIT: end of the road guys, fun is over. I'm editing this comment so everybody would see. 1. I never called myself an "AI artist", nor have I ever tried to profit from it. So those who claimed that I do can go suck it, because they are liars and committed libel. I agree with MOST of the things DM Quil says in the video, just not the "theft" part and what triggered me is what he said at 24:09 mark. 2. A lot of people claimed what I'm doing is plagiarism, but plagiarism is presenting someone else's work *as your own, original work* which I never did in my life and not going to. Learn word definitions. Also, I do have a job. I just never commissioned artists before. 3. Theft is similar. Theft is taking something *away* from the original owner, so they don't have it anymore. Some people made stupid analogies like "so using your logic I can steal a car now" or "so if I was not gonna buy a diamond anyway I can go and steal it?" Copying without permission is not theft directly. "theft" term could apply if I tried to sell AI images, stealing potential profits from the original owners, or plagiarizing on them, stealing fame the original creators deserved, but I NEVER did either of these things. 4. A lot of people here say that "you help major corporations, they make billions off people like you" how exactly do I help them if I use free, open-source Stable Diffusion. It's working on my own laptop without connecting to the internet, with zero ads, therefore, I'm not stealing any potential profits from the original artwork creators. 5. Moreover, like I've said multiple times now, when given a choice - I support real art and refuse to pay for AI. In fact I'm disgusted when I see AI images in shops and online marketplaces. I only pay for real art so actual artists would be rightfully paid for it. 6. "the environment argument - like I've already said multiple times - yes, MidJourney, Chat GPT and other big corporations are a problem for the environment(on top of copyright infringement), but I simply turn off my central heating(which by itself requires a lot of power or fossil fuels to operate) and turn on image generation. No extra harm done to the environment. Moreover, I'm an environmental fanatic: -I don't own a car -I recycle whenever I can -I buy more expensive, longer-lasting things instead of cheap, disposable ones -I save power whenever I can and don't waste it and so on and so forth. I do way more for the environment than most people do. Also, a lot of people here recommended me to draw on paper. You guys do know that beside deforestation it requires A LOT of energy to produce and transport paper, right? Way more than extra 80 watts my laptop consumes when generating AI. 7. A lot of people here said terrible things about me and to me, like "you just take what you want", "you were trained that the easiest way is the best one", "you never pay for anything" when I expressed no such thing in any of the messages here nor implied it in any way. Some completely cross the line, like the last one even said they wish me to kick the bucket which is completely unacceptable and is a horrible thing to say. I reported them for it. Remember to be decent human beings and not judge a book by its cover. You can't judge a person's whole life based on a single comment. I've devoted my life to helping others, and the "unethical" thing you think I'm doing hurts literally no one, hence why I'm doing it. Generating images on my PC without claiming I made them or profiting from them is morally neutral thing. If it bothers you - express it civilly, don't make death wishes and don't make up stories about a person. 8. Speaking of decency - I would like to thank a few people who either apologized for their bad behavior or straight up said "why are you lying about this guy?". That means a lot. Thank you. That gives me hope humanity isn't lost yet and there is goodness in some people. 9. And finally - my position on AI. I support AI but only in ethical ways. As tool for artists(not a replacement for them) as I've said here many times. I also support free AI image generation at home as long as it doesn't profit those who do it and they don't claim they drew it by themselves. Thanks to everyone for reading.
