I actually agree with you here, AI, had it been used to be a tool to help you create and not be used to steal other people's hard work, and try to replace other artists, I think alot of us artist's, myself included, would actually be A LOT more open to AI and actually encourage it's usage! It's like the digital vs traditional art thing.
Digital art programs doesnt steal others artworks, and combine them into a soulless mess or anything of the sorts, it rather gives you the necessary tools to make artworks in digital form! had AI gone down that similar route, to help artists instead of replacing them, a lot of artists would definitely look forward to ai being used in their work!
The problem is, like you said, corporations don't really wanna do that, which is why artists like lavendertowne and so many others are against the usage of AI rn.
Maybe we will survive, maybe AI images will become a new art form, maybe corporations will change their minds about how AI is used in the future, who knows really. Let's just hope things will work out for all of us in the end ig.
