Your premise is based on wild assumptions grounded in nothing but your perception of the nebulous, elitist artist.
The automation of factory work had positive and negative consequences, efficiency and more widespread use at the expense of very real people losing their source of income. The positives don't excuse the negatives and it is a failure of society to not compensate or offer alternatives to the people that were displaced. It is the same issue with AI art. The difference is art has no inherent benefit to being made more efficiently or quickly in the same way that manufacturing or infrastructure does, outside of higher/more frequent profits and those profits only ever go to people who are already much wealthier than the artists they would employ.
You are comparing apples to bark and saying that because they both come from a tree, they are the same.
