I agree with your first few sentences, like should a teacher be allowed to claim royalties for an art student work, that he's taught? (As an example). AI can either generate something unique (using billions of images as inspiration) or it can generate art using very specific tags like "A village using Picasso's style". So there's many layers to this problem :)
