it's exactly BECAUSE AI doesn't actually understand things that it's able to hallucinate. an LLM doesn't "understand" epinephrine but given enough information processed it'll consistently fill in the blank. That's not because it's intellectually superior to the doctor. AI wouldn't be able to predict something that was truly novel, ever. For things that are known and deducable, it can reliably fill in the blanks, but it might also just hallucinate, because it comes from a probabilistic calculation, not an understanding
