@raphaellubbers1759 no you're right, AI under capitalism exasturbated an issue that was already festering thanks to the place of art under capitalism. but damn how I hate assholes who get mad at the victims of the systems for being upset about the system
also not all art is commercial, but yes advertising has long been the easiest industry to break into as an artist... which is not the case anymore bc advertisers are gravitating towards ai instead. in a system where you rely on labour to earn capital to survive, having a shit job is better than having no job, much less no job prospects.
may AI accelerate the current state of capitalism to the point where nobody is working anymore and consequently have the free time to actually organise and overturn the system instead of being perpetually overworked? maybe. but I don't like the prospects of how many people are likely to starve in the process if we get to that point
