So you can always at least verify that the photo or a video has been unedited and is indeed the original. You can then gather your own trusted people and trusted sources, and it makes sure that the video is always from them and unmodified.)
Later, some cameras or video cameras will do it automatically. But ofc, those can be hacked as well. (The only thing you can with this system is that you know the video is unmodified since it's creation. Which can still create a platform for trust.)
