⁠@smile_1D10T_discontinued Hey, I am also in the TTRPG crowd, and though I personally don’t care if you’re just using it for your nonprofit DND campaign (though I am ethically opposed to genAI I’m not going to personally go out and police every single person who uses it), this is an unreasonable ask of artists. While you are not doing any real harm you are still using a tool that others are using to harm them, and they can’t just unprotect their work just because guys like you use it. If someone steals a loaf of bread that’s been poisoned to dissuade thieves and chops it up to put into a soup for you, it’s not the baker’s fault that you got a bad product. If you want a non-poisoned Generative AI I would recommend looking around for an ethically sourced model with artist consent (they DO exist and are incredibly easy to find, I found one just now by googling it). There are also boatloads of DND artists who offer free assets and monsters for DND games (and honestly if it’s just for a personal game you can just yoink stuff from Pinterest or Reddit, which will look better and be more ethical—and if you need it to be customizable as a requirement, try dollmakers or photobashing). In a better world, you’d be able to use any model freely, but unfortunately in this reality there are assholes that ruin it for you by stealing from artists in all sorts of messed up ways.
