@Matt-dn5jcYou don't need something to be sentient to be disobedient. Think about the sycophancy of AI. An AI will yes man you like a slave, and that's an intentional choice.
I do worry though that if human intelligence is just some biological linear algebra process, and these AI are linear algebra machines, we may accidentally invent sentience to our peril. But ignoring that, what I am really saying is that sycophancy and intelligence are opposites.
