@PandionisDemosthenes Sentient AI like that will never be a real thing because the logic behind it is flawed.
Intelligence isn't what determines whether or not something is alive. A dog or a cat isn't magically more a living being if it becomes more intelligent, or even less intelligent; it's alive regardless, and modern AI is already more intelligent than most animals. Likewise adding super-human intelligence to AI would not magically make it sentient life.
It makes for a good story though, so ppl like it. And because ppl like it they have a bias towards it being true.
