@pd9935 Agreed 100% that AI should be seen as a tool, rather than just a free commission robot when you're an artist! For instance, you could use it to clean up your sketch to make it easier to make the line art, or you could use it to make it easier to add shadow and highlights to a flat colored drawing, which you can then refine manually. Doing that probably saves a lot of time, without sacrificing too much of the artist's creativity.
When someone does not claim to be an artist though, would it then be fine if they just generated an image from a prompt (provided they used an AI with ethically sourced training data)? For instance, if a writer wanted to add some images to their story to add flavor and to guide imagination, while being clear they weren't the artist, only the writer of the story. Are there any problems with that?
