Oh, they've thought of that and are already talking about transitioning to a 'moneyless economy' - which is one in which they control the entire vertical automation stack, from mines to power plants to factories to farms, so they don't need to BUY anything, they just have it all made for them on demand.
Of course, they do need land and resources to put their robot factories on, but in the moneyless automated future, they won't need to buy it... They'll simply claim it from all the destitute people who have neither money nor robots.
