Also, something else I want to add: People can say AI art isn’t “real” art or that it doesn’t take skill. But that’s simply not true. Just like with traditional art, just producing _something_ doesn’t require much. But producing something that truly matches your vision takes real understanding—of the tools, the techniques, and the process. That means knowing how different sampling methods, schedulers, and step counts affect output. It means crafting prompts the model can actually interpret, and knowing how to work with hires fix, denoising, upscalers, LoRAs, ControlNets, OpenPose, and more. If I have a specific image in mind, it can take hours of iteration to dial it in. Sure—if all you want is a generic “cute puppy playing,” then yes, you can type that in and get something acceptable in seconds. But if you want to control the breed, the setting, the time of day, composition, mood, camera angle, and so on, it quickly becomes a whole different level of involvement. It’s a legitimate creative skill. It’s not the same skill as sketching with a pencil or framing a shot with a camera—but it’s still real, and it’s still valid. And yes, over time, a lot of the technical tools and workflows I just described will likely become more abstracted or automated. But even then, the core skill will remain: being able to describe—clearly and evocatively—what you want, in a way the model understands. That’s a verbal skill, not a visual one. But it’s still creative, still challenging, and no less worthy of respect. And if you don’t believe me, I invite you to set up a local Stable Diffusion instance (a skill in its own right) and spend some time with it. Especially once you step beyond web-based tools—many of which are built more for accessibility than precision—you’ll start to realize: this is more art than you thought.
