That ... isn't proof it actually copies or traces an image in the image generation stages though. If I learned how to forge a signature for instance, that doesn't mean I am copying for example a blank cheque every time I do it to get the signature.
That, and given how (even stated in the commonly cited article on AI generation) the chance of generating something that actually copies, while possible w/o overfitting, is really rare, how do people know if you're not just using image to image with low diffusion thresholds?
