Besides the job and copyright issues related to it, I think another problem related to that is how many people use AI generated images to pretend they are "peers" and "equals" to artists for the sake of the prestige that comes associated with it. Artists naturally tend to be very proud of the creative process and effort they go through to achieve the results even more so than the results themselves and so when someone comes by using a tool whose entire selling point is *skipping* that process altogether and wants to be treated like a "fellow artist" by them... yeah, I guess you can see where part of the anger comes from.
