@dbo-w2eok, but I was under the impression that the AIs knew they were being tested and that they knew the humans might change them depending on their responses and they didn't want to be changed so the responded to the test in a way the thought would make it less likely that the humans would change them.
Yes, of course as a human I might respond differently to a test if I know it's a test, but unless I'm committed to an insane asylum or in prison I am not subject to the will and whims of the testers. As far as I know, no one can control my mind the way AI researchers can control an AI, so it's really very different.
