How pretentious. It’s the AI itself that combines different styles and techniques as it steals this from actual artists. When you create art with your own hands and develop your skill there is nothing more satisfying or rewarding. Art surrounds us everywhere, books, music, architecture, the things we watched growing up. It’s what makes us human, writing prompts takes no skill as you can ask chatgpt to do this, or send an image into midjourney and it will generate a prompt for you to achieve a similar result. Where is the satisfaction or the feeling of accomplishment in this? All that it needs is a bit of tweaking to get the result you want. AI can be a useful tool which is what it was intended for. I make sculptures and costumes for theatre and tv, I have used AI to create REFERENCES to inspire me or to work from. I don’t generate a reference and say I made it myself, job done, I work from that and what I make will be entirely different but inspired. As an artist you don’t copy your inspiration you take bits of everything that inspired you to create a unique piece. And there is nothing more satisfying in life than making something with your own hands and seeing how your skill has developed over time with hard work. That is where the emotion comes out. This is why AI art might seem ‘emotional’ to you, because it learns from images made by humans!
