I don't think there is anything wrong with technology replacing skills that took 'tremendous' effort and years to learn. It's what we have been doing for years. And there's always a bar of real art that AI can't reach (yet?). What might be wrong is how 'robots' replace more and more of human labour and said humans have their existence and what they love doing invalidated, but that is sort-of an entirely different (but connected) issue in itself, isn't it? About paying people enough money so they can actually have a decent life while also able to do what they like in a healthy manner, which in itself opens up another can of worms about capitalism, paying taxes, social welfare, interest of the state and so on.
Like, the farming sector for examplem and how industrial farming replaces the 'farmer next door'. Most tomatos from a industrial farming taste like nothing, and I see myself buying the local produce instead (and even that is hit or miss). But we also have one high-tech tomato-growing complex that produces tomatos that taste incredible good, on a industrial level. That's something I can get behind.
My personal opinion is that tech replacing certain labour is something to embrace, not be against. As otherwise it hinders progress. When cars replaced horses, people were a lot against it too. Yet even today horses and horse-riding still has their use.
Another point I often see, and has been made again, is about how AI lacks "soul", which I disagree with. Sure, I can type in "beautiful woman with a sunset in the background" and hit generate 50 times until there is something I like. But AI Art has so much more tooling, and also prompt engineering, and people thinking about it, refining it, inpainting, img2img with sketches, etc. that it certainly has enough individualism. Does it take them less time than an image drawn completely from hand? I guess. Does the person doing it take less time to produce a result that, by comparison, would take an artist years to learn? Absolutely. But just because they had an 'easier' time doesn't mean it invalidates their work to a level of calling it 'non-human', whatever that may mean.
