Sorry to disappoint you, but Elon has no credentials on the matter of his talk. Now, I wrote that Elon seems to be confused(but in reality isn't and for other reasons) about where current AI research is going, which is certainly nowhere near any solution on questions of human cognition or cognition in general, nevertheless to show us hidden rules of language that would furtherly provide us with understanding of what minds really are, and therefore we would grasp at least in principle what is conciousness or how to implement data to construct it(in my opinion impossible). So the story of singularity of AI is pure fantasy that in reality has nothing to do with our AI agenda, as the AI research and implementation is virtually monopolized by commercial firms and agencies, so AI is going to sophisticate and develop huge enetrprises that are ultimately a bussines cause, as oppossed to "tool to make humanity highly advanced" which is a parole that misrepresents how the world works. And when it comes from Elon, it's hillarious, because people tend believe Elon Musk is some kind of hero of our generation that would save the planet from the evil and all powerful AI that lurks in code and waits for an invocation, while in reality, Elon is a multi-billionare industrialist, capitalist that only seeks ways to monopolize AI or at least to exploit this chance and set a company like Open AI.
