@jonm7888 Well, perhaps not in real time in every model out there, but there certainly is research being done with AI being trained on its own output and improving on that. That kinda sounds like an inner monologue.
Current language models also seem to posses the attribute of "theory of mind" with the level of a 9 year old.
I suggest you look into Douglas Hofstadter why a self referential system with those capabilities is potentially scary.
