Not fair. I thought he made a pretty good steel man of the progressives' arguments. A little on the nose with his claims that diversity trumps competence, but that's because real leftists are deceitful, slippery bugg3rs.
I think real progressives would be more likely to assert that competence does not automatically reduce with the adoption of diversity measures like affirmative action. I think their argument would probably be some hubristic assertion that diversity elevates competence through wider lived experience of the workforce, or some such undisprovable tosh.
