The problem is that modern AI cannot learn from your guidance. Modern AI is like a highly skilled developer with a brain damage that prevents it from learning anything new. It only has its old knowledge and small amount of short term memory and once the task gets complex enough that it cannot fit into the short term memory, AI will start to hallucinate a lot.
And since increasing the short term memory size has O(n²) complexity for the resource requirements, it has been increase as big as possible already! Even doubling it from the current state would instantly quadruple to cost of running said AI.
