​@LiterallyRainClaiming you have no attatchment to art, then putting forwards a claim about how art should be recieved, is why ai tech bros are often called out of touch. People on the side of ai art who actively claim ai art is better are just as uncommon (and bad at times) as those harrassing and threatening ai artists. Most of us only protest and disagree, just like most of you just express being. But let me break it down with an example for you. There is a plumber. Theyve put a handful of years into school and apprenticeships and have become a true tradesman. They enjoy their work, and the effort they put into it. They get hired bya guy who isnt a plumber, but says he can get you more business. Thats fine. He knows he isnt a plumber, and the actual plumber benefits. While in the business, they see a business named Ned the Plumber. He says hes a plumber. Thats fine, good on him for making it big in the industry. The plumber of the story however learns more about Ned the Plumber. He never went to school, has never actually fixed a pipe, and hires a group of underpaid immagrants to do the plumbing for him. The plumber here doesnt like that. He thinks plumbers should be given proper credit and good pay. But Ned takes all the credit and pays practically nothing to the immagrants. The job gets done though. Maybe theres a few mistakes, but its way cheaper than anyone else. So everyone turns to Ned the Plumber. The actual plumber gets less work, and people appretiate them less. And now, the guy who hired the origonal plumber is saying "Man, that Ned guy is a great plumber. I should hire him instead! Everyone loves Ned, and hes so much cheaper!" Now all plumbing work is done poorly, cheaply, and anyone who actually put in the effort or passion to be a plumber is out of the job and being run through the mud for being outspoken about Ned. The origonal plumber is an artist. Im sure that much is obvious. And Ned is an ai artist. My metaphore there wasnt super deep. But the origonal employer is a company who hired the artist for concept work, story writing, coding, anything related. The company sees the ai artist and fires the actual artist for AI art. The barely paid plumbers under Ned is the art used to feed generative ai. These artists get no pay, no recognition, and are actively screwed over by the ai. Artists are losing jobs to cheap imitations. And above all, there are people claiming to be "A Plumber", while hating all plumbers and the plumbing industry as a whole.
