I’ve been feeling the same way for a while now. I started my tech career doing developer support work in the nineties right as windows 95 came out so I’ve been at it for awhile. The team dynamics were just a lot more fun back then and everything was new and fresh. AI may put me out of work but, for now, I’m having fun with it. I vibe coded a new website for my wife’s daycare business over the weekend and really enjoyed myself. It was like taking a step back to those early days when I could build and create without so much corporate overhead. I’m probably rambling a bit but the point is, I’d encourage you to give it a try and see if you can find some fun in it.
