Its quite powerful in the absolute beginning. In two hours it builds things that would take me weeks and the code quality is quite good at start (Im using Claude, Chatgpt is worse). If thats all you do, build small program for scratch it will be very productive. Even then ir produces bugs.
Problems starts when a little bit past that initial step.
As a person that have been working as dev for almost 30 years I can say that the time I spent with completely new code bases is almost zero.
I would say that during my 30 year long carrer I could have saved maybe 3-4 months of work from this new project productivity increment. That is basically nothing.
