If something outsmarts you, it does not matter whether you call the thought "original" or not. And we have *tons* of evidence that they are getting smarter and agentic. Of course, nobody here has a crystal ball, but simply compare ChatGPT from 11/2022 and today's LLM, and tell me that there is not a clear trend of increasing intelligence and agency.
