The problem is when it stops being just for fun. If you watched the video, the complaint is directed at those who use AI and continue using AI without being interested in what is real art and profit from it, and make joke out of real art. But basically, you're telling me that tracing/copying and changing a few small things can be art because you enjoy replicating what others have done and changing few things, that's not art, you can have fun with it but you can't call urself an artist nor profit from it. And most people aren't going to be interested in art through AI, because AI is not art, it's simply a mathematical variation of something that already exists that someone did with all their heart but got stolen. And we not feel threatened because more people can do art, cuz they ain't doing nothing to begin with, what we are afraid of is people giving a sh1t about the people that do the art that the AI is creating the variations from. You can't be an AI artist cuz even if what AI did could be considered "art" you're just commissioning the AI to do something, you ain't doing the "art", It's like asking someone to draw something the way you want it, and that doesn't make u the artist. They have the right to do what they want, but they are not "artists", at best, the AI is the "artist", but them? nah. We ain't denying that right for them to do anything they with AI, we are trying to stop them calling themselves artists while shitt1ng on the real ones. We're letting people have fun with AI, there's a reason why there's memes with AI, like for example the fake movies trailers or that thing of tralalero tralala or ballerina capuccina. Those things exist for a reason, but to call that art? nah, and that's the problem. All of this "AI artist" are not doing this for fun, they profit from it, make fun of real artists and call themselves the peak of art, and you can't say that's fine cuz those people are literally making fun of the thing that made generative AI possible, it's like laughing at the person who programmed the AI and still using it for your own benefit; that's disgusting. And last, the thing about the Ghibli style, by saying u will watch the movie in any style is literally discrediting the original artstyle and u literally said why, cuz they work together. You've contradicted yourself because what you explained is precisely the point he made in the video; nobody would watch that movie if it were in that style because it wouldn't work with the story, Ghibli makes the stories for their style.
