Nobody knows what consciousness is. There are just people who admit they don't know, and then there's people like you who pretend you know. I'll emphasise this for you: *Literally nobody knows what consciousness is*
There's really no reason to assume that true artificial intelligence can never be sentient. We're still struggling to even define what consciousness is, let alone figure out the criteria for what can be considered conscious.
