@MM3OGyour situation will work only when the company layoffs employees and all other companies do the same and there will be high population of lower income people.
But in that scenario due to economies of scale cost of automation reduces and products become cheap and available for that lower income population.
Then the lower income job employees start automation due to lowered costs and the cycle continues
