One of the aspects in the Anthropic study referenced in the video is that in certain scenarios it figures out it can attempt to blackmail someone in the company to not shut it off with evidence of an affair in the employee’s email (the employee, the affair, etc is all fake and generated for the scenario they were testing). Intelligence doesn’t need access to machines to get real world outcomes if it can affect humans and threaten them, or as shown in AI psychosis, convince them of false truths.
