@maoopan This video is just a recap of how diffusion models work in general, it doesn't say anything about why it's wrong to train these models using copyrighted material.
It just said that these AI generation models aren't learning the same way humans learn, which isn't a good reason as to why they shouldn't learn.
And it states that these models are just statistical models (with feedback and all that), which is kinda weird, because we can kinda describe many things like that. Saying diffusion models are just statistical models is like saying humans are just molecules interacting with each other.
We don't know how exactly our brains work, there are some that argue the brain is a predictive machine, some say it's not. Either way, it is not a good reason as to why copyrighted materials cannot be used to train them.
