I think i might have the explanation you're looking for, I'm not saying working at a kiosk or being a server doesn't require talent and learning it does but the way AI picutre generation or AI "art" is quite different: 1. AI generation requires little to no talent to create beautiful pictures where as real art whether traditional or digital requires usually years of learning and developing a personal artstyle that you are passionate about and if lucky you profit off of it. 2. AI image generation trains it's bot on existing artworks and photos on the Internet- including those of small artists without their consent. If they didn't upload it that would solve that problem but then how are you supposed to find a crowd for your art easily if not the internet? 3. If AI "art" continues to get better it could unfortunately replace artists working in stuff like graphic design, as AI is cheaper. To end this i'll say as someone who majors art in highschool and learned and was tested on the history of art and non traditional medium like the camera, cinema and television i can say that when a new medium comes it usually creates it's own language and the traditional art creates a language in response. For example, Cubism is the artists' response to cinema and film. Eventually traditional art and the new medium learn to coexist after the traditional art suspects the new medium to replace traditional art. The thing is i think AI has good chace to replace traditional art since these days are not the days with patrons and lords requesting a portrait from Leonardo Da Vinci for gold, the days when being an artist meant a lot. Then it was usually a Profession today it's usually a skill or hobby yet there are those who profit from it. Also AI "art" has no soul it's a robot Have a good day and sorry if it's very long
