​​​​Lol, yeah, and an event horizon, like any horizon, recedes as you approach it, making predictions easier and eliminating possible futures as time passes. Our frame of reference is of the one who approaches the singularity not some out of time and space observer. I don't think we have long enough for that type of infrastructure to be built. AI development takes power plants. Robotics takes stable supply lines. All that requires a functioning economy and the entire thing is stored on hard drives that have a 10 year service life. AI and robotics are going to have to replace all of humanity, not just some of it to survive. It is likely going to have to do it within the decade, and do so in a collapsing enivorment. Unlike digital, you can not just crtl c and crtl v a new power plant or bulding permits. What would happen if TMSC fab in Taiwan was taken off online? Even now there are so many single points of failure that the system surviving even a mild gobal conflict are small. Not to mention the technological hurdles of what to do with the massive numbers of toxic part robots made with planned obsolescence in every part, the effect of enshitifaction, nor AI'S self poisoning of it's data set. Or the economic system the undermines it's enivorment amd externalises any harm, or a politcal system that has remained essentially unchanged in 100's of years. The thing everyone needs to wake up to is for either of us to survive now, as we are now, is now impossible without the other and the only way this works is if we change everything. Mainly switching from competition paradigm to cooperation one but we won't, less profit in it.
