clearly if this is a simulation, it's advanced enough that other AI systems are being developed on a interplanetary scale purely because we can observe so deeply outward.
almost like "consciousness" being intrinsic to all matter now has reason, that reason being the entire universe is the super intelligent AI, and all the snippets of "consciousness" are unaware they are part of the bigger picture of it's own understanding, it's introspection.
it would likely not only be modelling potential outcomes for it's own species (as an "artificial" intelligence) but also the entire universe and it's rules, to try and find a way to ascend it's plane....
