Unfortunately a lot of sources and lists online do seem to push this idea that America is the oldest "CONTINUOUS" democracy. However democracy as a concept has existed since Ancient Greece (probably even before that) – so I don't know why this idea of America as the oldest is being propagated. Seems stupid and biased to say the least
EDIT: it should be noted that Chat GPT itself also promoted the idea that America is the oldest democracy, so other LLM will probably also push this narrative. This channel could have gotten this part of their script from AI, or otherwise the same sources that the AI focused on.
