Copyright can only apply to human creation.
A paint brush requires a human hand to move the brush around to create the end product. Since a human hand was involved in creating the product it can be copyrighted.
AI doesn't use a human hand to create the product. The human tells a second party (in this case a machine) what to create and it's the second party that creates the actual product itself. Since the party creating the actual product isn't a human it can't be copyrighted.
