First the unemployed will seek jobs in branches not affected by AI yet. Once they lose their jobs there as well due to AI advances, there will be no way around an universal basic income paid by taxes which will be generated by taxing companies using AI systems. I'm quite certain we will head in that direction because the alternative to that would be an uprising and eventual chaos until we get a new economic system (I doubt the wealthy would risk that since then they would lose their riches as well as their status).
