Because they are not taking the original piece to resell it
It's exactly how life and every industry works
There is no artist that is ever unique
They are inspired and whether conscious or subconscious create based on what they have seen
This is exactly what the AI does
It outputs based on what it has seen
The truth is, Artist fear they will loose a huge part of their income because the AI art is very good and if not better than the majority of artist
