He's semantically right but the fact that he thinks that's a reason to steal real artists work is objectively wrong. Words have meaning outside of the dictionary. There's the clear implication that he believes that AI image generation is the same as, or at least comparable to the human creative process when it very much is not. No matter how good we are at making studies of other people's works, it will always be influenced by how we as people view the original work, the medium we work in, our personal techniques, etc. AI has none of that.
