Taking a line from one image and a shape from another is not plagiarism. An artists brain is an accumulation of works and life experiences but has the potential to inspire a younger generation who uses the artists style as a base but creating something wholly unique. What is the meaning of 'inspired by'? Why do most Aliens in Hollywood look like gray aliens? Should we credit the person who first explained to us what a gray alien is with every new image created? Or perspective? Should we pay the artists family royalties with every perspective accurate picture drawn? AI is like an Artist that has been inspired by a billion works, except it's smarter and better. It'll take a color scheme from one work but how many colors are there really? It'll take a brick style from a castle painted in the 1800's and the leaf of a tree painted last year. Is that 'YOUR' leaf? I think maybe you need to dive more into the technology and understand what is happening. Also try putting in the same prompt several times - you are always getting something different, something you've never seen before. Whether you like it or not most human art is inspired by our life experiences, plagiarized directly from the world and human experience. Chances are something you've drawn has been drawn somewhere else in a very similar way. Aren't you excited about AI showing us new ways to draw and create that are beyond our understanding? What if it is able to show us things in a whole new way? Instead of being scared for your livelihood, let it inspire you and give you ideas that you never would have gotten otherwise. What does the 5th dimension look like? What does a photo-realistic depiction of the space time continuum look like from someone who can see it? Being an artist is about being inspired and creating something new. AI is the ultimate inspiration. The people who use AI to create stuff for their company / business never wanted to buy your art anyway. Humans still choose to ride a bike instead of a car - a good bike is actually very expensive. Human art will be much more valuable and worth way more than anything generated by AI. I know it's scary but the gates have opened and trying to close them will only hurt you. Embrace it and use it to your advantage. You can't stop it, you can only try to slow it down. It's like trying to stop the internet - it's not going to happen. As a web developer - I'm not as special anymore. As an artist - you aren't that special anymore. We were never special to begin with, this was inevitable, it's been outlined in all of our science fiction movies, science and books. Why are you trying to stop a tsunami with your bare hands? Get ahead of the curve and find a way to use it to your advantage - a template perhaps? an idea generator? a source of inspiration? Complaining will get you nowhere, being an artist and making things people have never seen before will get you somewhere. Now as a 'real' artist you will get the opportunities that are worth while. Let the lazy people rely on AI for everything they do - at some point they will fail because human creativity will always win. In the end it will still be the most creative person that is able to create something wholly unique, whether AI generated or not, that will win. AI does make you superhuman. You can minimize an article into a few bullet points, consolidate your notes, sift for the more interesting tidbits of information, get your code checked for errors and optimization, come up with new ideas when you have writers block and way more. For the people who are already successful, AI helps them with all the dreary / mundane tasks so they can get to the 'real' work. Give it a try and add a couple AI tools to your workflow and see what happens.
