There is another reason for self-driving cars: It's way more relaxed than driving yourself. And it will make traffic more fluid. However, self-driving cars are already safer than human-driven cars on a miles basis. And that's all we need. Sadly, there will always be car accidents. They will never fully vanish. Therefore it was just a question of time when the first person dies in an accident involving a self-driving car. But there will be much lesser crashes and that's what is important.
