Because most people already tried by themselves and it's almost impossible to prompt the bot to encourage self-deletion or self-harm.
Try it yourself.
I did try many things and still found it hard to bypass the filter. If this kid can make the bot respond like that for MONTHS, i really wanted to know his chat logs and the prompts he used...
Then again, if people need to look for companion and solace in AI, means the human around them were failing them. And when it happened to kids, well... Should the parents try to see themselves first? Especially when the parents tried to sue for financial settlement.
