@eb3144it depends on the engine. Gemini provides a link at the end of most paragraphs. So do other LLMs. ChatGPT (OpenAI) indeed doesn't do that unless asked. I think that if the intention provided is an exact quote, or nearly one, then they have to provide a link and maybe even mention the source by name. But training alone is fair use.
