The difference is that human styles are formed through both reference (which AI does as well) AND human experience. AI does not have human experience, it takes other human experiences and tries to mesh them and wonder why it doesn't (usually) invoke the same emotion as human art.
For AI art to have the same appreciation as human art, AI must reach sentience. Until then, it does not experience, it copies and melds.
