There is a weird smugness that comes with someone saying "GPUs will probably kill us in the next 5 years, also I'm just sitting here with a big fat grin". Bro, it's either or.
I know companies like OpenAI are evil, I know AI is being used BY HUMANS to push fascist agendas. I also know someone is trying to sell their book right here right now.
Hank, I appreciated your POV in the first half. However, this interview needed a whole lot more pushback towards your guest. It's not that I disagree with Soares' sentiments entirely, it's that the presentation was lackluster. It was both overly bold and utterly incomplete.
