Fun story for you, buddy. Companies have invested in AI because of the promises and potential it provides (when not being used for generative purposes.) HOWEVER, maintaining AI servers is found to be extremely costly. Sponsors are starting to become unsure about their financial support, and consideration of withdrawing funding is starting to become more and more common. When this happens, it'll be harder for AI companies to keep their servers up. It's not unlikely that a LOT of AI sites will shut down.
Not to mention, it causes a bunch of environmental issues, so many people are starting to protest AI centers being built. I genuinely hope that the government takes action and starts cracking down on them. I have a deep rooted hate for generative AI, and I am happy to see it's downfall. (Who's coming with me to celebrate?)
