software developer working in big tech here. I'd say if you really like CS and engineering, go for it. You might not be well paid (as I do expect for salaries to go down) or at least not as before, but will have something to do (either in SWE, Data engineering, AI engineer, etc). If you're doing this mostly because you have nothing else going on and you simply want a job, look somewhere else. Things are going to get tough for software developers and only will be able to keep up if you are really passionate about this carrer.
