​@Reverie_BlazeI don’t completely disagree. There are plenty of bestselling authors putting out subpar stories and indie authors releasing low-quality books every month. The market is already flooded with human-written content that lacks substance. AI isn’t quite there yet but eventually it will write just as well if not better than many humans. It will create beautiful art. The real question is how do we adapt, who will choose to adapt, and who will choose to fight it? Personally I think the bigger threat to authors is the publishers. They control a massive part of what gets exposure and they’ll absolutely use AI to undercut writers and boost profits. The problem isn’t the tech itself, it’s who’s using it and why. One area we do need to tighten up is legal disclaimers for AI-generated content. Not sure what the best approach is but letting the market get flooded with low-effort generative work isn’t helping anyone. I also find it interesting how people separate AI’s role in creative fields from its role in scientific ones. Why is it embraced in one and feared in the other? On the bright side video games are going to get insane. Custom AI systems will change everything and make sure no two playthroughs are the same. That said I haven’t read an AI-generated novel yet and honestly I’m not really interested. I still want that connection to a human author even if it's subtle.
