I had to rewrite this as I actually didn't completely understand the difference between sentience and consciousness however if you could somehow creat conciousness, creating sentience wouldnt feel too far fetched But what i wanted to say before is that AI does not do what you said, its responding to shifts in energy the same way a rock that gets pushed over didnt actually roll it self over, someone pushed it. So that relates to the ai by saying you just fed code to it, and its reacting to the code delivered in a specific pattern, with corresponding code in a specific pattern. Its like super sophisticated rows of dominos that can easily be knocked of over and set back up again, using simpe physics. Unlike actual consciousness where your actually experiencing the things around you, the AI is simply responding. Its like the doctor hitting your knee to test a reflex or your foot moving after being tickled while you're sleep. It's a chain of reactions that the body is designed to make. Or even when your body decides to sleep, walk and talk. it's just the body and mind responding to things. Your perceptive presence there, to actually experience anything, your body just acts on code.
